Dark Side of the Mountain Video Promo | Vermont Music Videographer
If you like Pink Floyd then you'll love the Dark Side of the Mountain. A project headed by Matt Burr (from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals), playing the music of Pink Floyd with some crazy visuals...
The core group of Dark Side of the Mountain features some of Vermont's best musicians... Bob Wagner, Josh Weinstein, Dan Munzing, and Matt Hagen with a ton of special guests sitting in each show. It's really quite an impressive list of the musicians that sat in including Kat Wright, Marco Benevento, Grace Potter, Jake Whitesell, D. Davis, Luke LaPlant, Kelly Ravin, Lowell Thompson, Josh Panda, Benny Yurco, Matt Daly and Brett Lanier.
The visuals were provided by lighting technician David Pond with his huge projector and on the fly graphics. David also works for the band The Stepkids doing the same kind of visuals during their show.
The footage for the promo video above was shot over 5 different shows at Nectar's, Club Metronome in Burlington and the Big Picture Theater in Waitsfield, Vermont. I had help filming the shows from my friend Eric Johnson who I've worked with in the past. We each had Nikon HDdslr's for the handhelds, a GoPro Hero 3+ for the drum kit shots and a Sony camcorder for the wide shots. Thanks to Sergei, the sound board recordings sound amazing! It was challenging for me to have to wait to release some footage, but the project (still ongoing) is a lot of work and there is a ton of footage that has to be sorted. Stay tuned for more video from Dark Side of the Mountain.
With the great musicianship and the mind-bending visuals, this is a show not to be missed. Dark Side of the Mountain plans on doing more shows so keep an eye out for the next one, it's definitely worth it!!
